1. Scope and service
This draft covers the Windolet website and the planned Windows and macOS desktop software. The effective date and applicable version of the final terms will be announced before sales or use begin.
Windolet is being developed to connect two people through an invite code so they can exchange messages and gifts. File transfer and offline storage availability, limits and retention periods are not yet final. The website preview does not connect two devices.
2. Accounts and licenses
The planned activation flow is to sign in with Google and register a purchased license key to that account. Each person needs their own entitlement. An invite code is separate from the license key that proves a purchase. Account recovery and device registration procedures will be published when implemented.
A license grants use of the software within the scope disclosed at purchase. Device limits, transferability and included updates will be stated before sales open. Bypassing activation limits or using another person’s key without authorization is not permitted.
3. Purchases and access periods
Windolet is planned as a subscription service. Prices, taxes, billing periods, renewal terms, cancellation methods and included features will be disclosed before payment. A license key registers a subscription entitlement to an account; it is not a perpetual license. Access will be managed according to subscription status and the applicable access period.
Paddle is the planned reseller for payments. Purchases through Paddle will also be subject to its buyer terms and payment conditions. Windolet plans to provide the software and license support; the payment receipt and activation instructions may arrive in separate emails.
4. Connections and shared content
Only send messages or files through a connection the other person has accepted. Do not use Windolet for harassment, impersonation, malware, unlawful content, infringement of others’ rights or disruption of the service. Keep invite codes and license keys private except where sharing is necessary.
Rights in shared content remain with its original rights holders. Windolet’s processing of that content is intended to be limited to what is needed to provide the feature. Deleting your account or copy may not delete copies saved by the recipient.
5. Changes and restrictions
Maintenance, outages or security issues may temporarily interrupt features. Material changes to paid access or discontinuation will require notice and any refunds or adjustments required by law and the purchase agreement. Uninterrupted operation and unlimited storage are not promised.
Unlawful use or a material breach may lead to proportionate access restrictions. Where possible, reasons and a way to contest the decision will be provided. A legitimate refund request or dispute is not itself grounds for punishment.
6. Rights and responsibilities
Rights in Windolet’s software, design and content belong to their respective owners. Components under separate open-source licenses remain governed by those licenses. These terms do not restrict mandatory user rights or exclude responsibility for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
7. Minors, updates and disputes
The eligible age and any required parental-consent process will be finalized before launch. Updates to the terms will identify the changes and effective date, with separate consent where legally required. Mandatory rights, including applicable cancellation rights for minors, remain unaffected.
This draft is prepared for a service operated from the Republic of Korea. Applicable law and jurisdiction rules govern disputes; mandatory consumer protections in an overseas user’s place of residence are not excluded. The legal operator details will be published before sales open.
